Hands On History Vacation Package- June 1 to October 15th

Historic Sherbrooke Village depicts a typical Nova Scotian village from 1860 to pre-ww1. With approximately 80 buildings, over 25 of those open to the public, it is the largest Nova Scotia Museum site. Visit the woodturner shop, blacksmith, pottery shop, and printery. We are very happy to work with our provincial museum partner to offer the following packages.

Join us at Sherbrooke Village, where our past is your adventure, for a Hands on History experience.

Spend two days immersed in a pioneer adventure as you discover what family life was like in the late 1800s. Dress in costume and become part of an authentic Victorian village diorama! Learn the secrets of woodstove cookery, make butter, or try your hand at hooking a rug. Our program is composed of a range of heritage skills to enable you to step back in time with us.

Take your time and take yourself back in history, visit four local museums and educational interpretive centers. Tour Sherbrooke Village which is a living history and depicts a typical Nova Scotian village from the 1860-pre-ww1: Get a feeling for the people who made their living by the sea and depended on the Port Bickerton Light House, now an Interpretive Center with a beach park and hiking trails. Visit the community of Goldenville, this small community that produced major Gold finds in 1861-1942. Visit the St. Mary's River Interpretive Center and go back in time to get a sense of the fishing history and leisure aspect of life on this magnificent river.
